Ray Romano brilliantly portrayed Raymond Barone, the sportswriter navigating life with his overbearing parents and patient wife, Debra. This role wasn’t just career-defining; it earned him an Emmy Award and numerous nominations. Reflecting on the extensive run of Everybody Loves Raymond, Romano himself acknowledged the variability in episode quality. “When you do 210 episodes, you’re going to have episodes that you think are brilliant and you’re going to have episodes that you think, ‘Wow, you know what? We kind of missed it on that one,” Romano shared with PEOPLE, highlighting the natural ebb and flow of such a long-running series.

Post-Raymond, Romano continued to be a prominent figure in television. His credits include roles in Men of a Certain Age, Parenthood, Vinyl, Get Shorty, Made for Love, and Bupkis. Looking ahead, he is part of the ensemble cast for the Netflix comedy series No Good Deed, expected in 2025, alongside Lisa Kudrow and Luke Wilson. Beyond television, Romano lent his voice to Manny in the Ice Age film franchise and took on roles in films like The Big Sick (2017) and Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman (2019). In his personal life, Romano is married to Anna Romano, and they have four children: Alexandra, Matthew, Gregory, and Joseph.
